The Last Sitting (Marilyn Monroe, with pearls) by Bert Stern

I

Commercial photographer Bert Stern’s fashion portraiture of Marilyn Monroe with her pearls for Vogue is very intimate. These photographs were taken at Hotel Bel-Air in LA in a three-day-shoot, six weeks before her tragic death. The pearls featured in these images are Mikimoto Pearls gifted to her by the Emperor of Japan during her Tokyo visit in 1954.
